Effects of holy basil (Ocimum sanctum) on viral disease of chili (Capsicum annum L.) under mixed crop cultivation

Chili is one of the important commodities in Indonesia. cultivation faces many obstacles, leading to a decrease production, such as virus infections. Yellow leaf curl and curly top viruses are groups that often found chili fields. This research was conducted investigate effect intercropping (basil-chili) suppressing viral diseases, especially yellow viruses. A Randomized block design used for this research, including monoculture. The parameters observed study included disease incidence intensity, number weight chilies. Symptoms infection include curl, yellowing, stunting. has been reported be transmitted by insect vectors, Aphis gossypii Bemisia tabaci. results showed intensity diseases pepper basil plants were not significantly different each treatment. healthy chilies their also different.
